Curating an Ideal Education Cycle
We all know what education means to the world and its people, and it isn't't any different in AIESEC.
Education Cycles can prove more than helpful in your bid to ensure operational compliance within your entity. It could serve 2 purposes; either as a preventive measure or as a corrective measure.
As a preventive measure, the education cycle can help you to avoid or minimise operational risks and cases. As a corrective measure, the education cycle can help identify loopholes that need to be addressed and help tackle them.
An education cycle is a powerful tool that every ECB needs to take advantage of. It doesn't only help to inform, but it makes your work easier as you try to navigate your way towards ensuring optimum compliance within your entity.
Now that we've established its importance, you may be wondering how to create one? Well, this article is here to make your work much more manageable! Creating an education cycle shouldn't be an arduous task, and we are here to ensure that.
Before anything, a good Educational Cycle should reflect the needs/shortcomings of the entity. Your education cycle will be rendered useless if it doesn't try to solve your plenary’s weaknesses. Your intention is not just to educate but to improve the operational culture within your entity. So your prime focus should be filling the loopholes and addressing all the grey areas that will help improve operational compliance.
How do you achieve this? Easy! Focus on information extraction through previous audits conducted, sensing forms, consultancies, cases solved and other ECB surveys. Make use of forms and tracking sheets established to spool all the needed information. Through this (and more of your choosing), you will have a more realistic view about the educational needs of the entity.
After a successful survey, it's crucial to use the information you've obtained to curate a cycle that will fit the entity's needs. This is the stage where you design content that will tackle grey areas identified through your sensing. You should strive to develop content that is both meaningful and ENGAGING so you can draw and maintain the entity's interest. Consider incorporating videos and visuals in your materials to keep content fresh and enticing. Not only will you succeed in attracting members for education, but they will participate with zeal.
Always remember that the goal for curating an education cycle is not only to educate but to correct. And as such, focusing on the widely NEEDED should take precedence over all other factors.
